An eco-responsible stay in the heart of nature, a night in a barrel in the heart of the vineyards and the Cerdonnais hillsides, this is the unique experience offered by Kévin Messerli and his Cabane du Vigneron. By Julie Arbeit

Inspired by his studies in viticulture and oenology, Kevin worked alongside his father John in the family winery, Maison Messerli when, at the age of 26, he designed a unique experience for tourists: unusual accommodation at the foot of the vineyards with the option of wine tasting.

Manufactured, fitted out and opened in spring 2022, the Cabane du Vigneron operates completely autonomously thanks to solar panels and a water tank.

Inside, you will find everything you need (fridge, microwave, kitchenette, coffee machine, double bed and double sofa bed, sheets, etc.), and brunch breakfasts are available as an option. Kevin is even committed to introducing his visitors to Cerdon and provides a bottle for each reservation.

Off the beaten track, the cabin with its atypical barrel shape immerses each visitor in a haven of peace: a green and natural setting, between vineyards, waterfall and stream.

At dawn and dusk, the atmosphere is bucolic. We particularly appreciate the visit of the horses who come to take their ration of bread, the view overlooking the Culaz waterfall and the colors of the vineyard.

Whether you go there for a family stay (up to 4 people) or a romantic weekend, everything is designed so that everyone experiences a timeless break where the worries of everyday life disappear. We can only appreciate the serenity of the surrounding nature.

UNAVOIDABLE

“Raisin on the cake”, Cerdon Evasion , the activity imagined by Kévin, offers to travel through the Cerdon vineyards aboard all-terrain electric scooters, on a 12km route from the cellar to La Chapelle de Saint-Alban, followed by a tasting of Cerdon in their cellar.

WHAT TO DO NEARBY?

Close to hiking trails, the Cuivrerie de Cerdon or the Grottes du Cerdon , the Cabane du Vigneron is a must for discovering the area.
